A 1940s Moorabbin Bathroom, Fully Rebuilt
Olive-green wall tile, patterned vinyl and a shower curtain — stripped back to the studs and rebuilt.

BeforeAfter- The job
- Original olive tile with a decorative border, a laminate vanity with a moulded basin, patterned vinyl over the floorboards, and a bath–shower combination behind a curtain. No waterproofing worth the name and no exhaust.
- What we did
- Stripped to frame, re-plumbed and rewired, new waterproofing membrane certified on completion, floor-to-ceiling tiling, a timber-look vanity with a stone top, round mirror with a wall light over it, matte black tapware, and a frameless screen to the existing bath.
- Timeline
- Four weeks, part of a whole-home overhaul
- What it cost
- Bathrooms typically $15,000–$35,000
- The result
- The bath and the window are exactly where they were. Everything a hand touches is new — including a waterproofing certificate that goes in the file at handover. This bathroom sat inside a $150,000 fixed-price overhaul of the whole house.
