The Cheltenham Backyard
A cracked slab and a patchy lawn, turned into the part of the house they actually use.

BeforeAfter- The job
- A concrete slab split end to end, a lawn that was more weed than grass, a rusting barbecue, and no reason to go outside after five o'clock.
- What we did
- Bluestone paving over a new base, a jarrah pergola with catenary lighting, deep planting beds with grasses and a multi-stem tree, a granitic path down the side, garden lighting on a timer, and the lawn cut back and re-established.
- Timeline
- Six weeks
- What it cost
- $45,000 — fixed price
- The result
- The same fence, the same neighbours' rooflines — and a yard that gets used most evenings from October through to April.
